Meine Vorträge sind keine klassischen Präsentationen.
Sie sind eine Reise in die Stille der Berge –
dorthin, wo Planung an Bedeutung verliert.
Ich arbeite in Landschaften, die fordern.
Orte, an denen sich Grenzen nicht ankündigen,
sondern plötzlich da sind.
Körperlich.
Mental.
Und manchmal auch dort, wo aus Unsicherheit reale Gefahr wird.
In diesen Momenten wird spürbar,
wie nah Schönheit und Risiko, Leben und Vergänglichkeit beieinanderliegen.
Ich suche diese Situationen nicht.
Aber um meine Visionen umzusetzen,
muss ich mich immer wieder auf sie einlassen.

von Zweifeln und von Augenblicken, die alles verändern.

They are a journey into the silence of the mountains, to a place where planning loses its importance. I work in landscapes that demand.
Places where limits don’t announce themselves,
but suddenly appear.
Physically.
Mentally.
And sometimes in those moments when uncertainty turns into real danger.
In these moments, it becomes clear
how close beauty and risk, life and transience truly are. I do not seek out these situations.
But in order to realize my vision,
I must face them again and again.
I speak of nights in the cold,
of waiting in the dark,
of doubt, and of moments that change everything.

Sono un viaggio nel silenzio delle montagne, là dove la pianificazione perde importanza.
Lavoro in paesaggi che mettono alla prova.
Luoghi in cui i limiti non si annunciano,
ma si presentano all’improvviso.

Mentalmente.
E a volte proprio lì, dove l’incertezza diventa pericolo reale.

quanto siano vicini bellezza e rischio, vita e transitorietà. Non cerco queste situazioni.
Ma per realizzare la mia visione,
devo affrontarle ancora e ancora.

dei dubbi e di quegli istanti che cambiano tutto.

E della domanda su ciò che rimane,

Schattenjäger – Nächte zwischen Stille und Glut
Eine Reise in die nächtliche Welt der Berge, zwischen absoluter Stille und roher Gewalt. Im Zentrum steht die Suche nach einem der verborgensten Jäger Europas.
Still.
Kaum sichtbar.
Und nur für kurze Augenblicke greifbar.
Über Monate hinweg entsteht eine Arbeit, die Geduld verlangt, Zweifel aushält und immer wieder an Grenzen führt – körperlich, mental und persönlich. Der Vortrag erzählt die Entstehungsgeschichte jenes Bildes, das bei den Oscars der Naturfotografie, dem „Wildlife Photographer of the Year“ ausgezeichnet wurde.
Doch die Stille ist nur eine Seite.
Die andere führt dorthin, wo Landschaften sich bewegen, wo Hitze, Licht und Risiko aufeinandertreffen. In eine Welt aus Glut, an den Entstehungsort von Mutter Erde.
Unter extremen Bedingungen entstehen Bilder,
die nicht kontrollierbar sind, nur beobachtet werden können. Zwischen diesen beiden Welten entfaltet sich der Kern der Arbeit:
das Aushalten von Momenten,
das Überschreiten von Grenzen
und die Entscheidung, immer wieder zu bleiben.

A journey into the nocturnal world of the mountains, between absolute silence and raw force. At its core lies the search for one of Europe’s most elusive predators.
Silent.
Barely visible.
And only tangible for brief moments.
Over the course of months, a body of work emerges that demands patience, endures doubt, and repeatedly pushes boundaries – physically, mentally and personally. The talk tells the story behind the creation of the image that was awarded at the “Oscars of nature photography”, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
But silence is only one side.
The other leads to places where landscapes begin to move, where heat, light and risk collide. Into a world of embers, to the origins of Mother Earth. Under extreme conditions, images are created that cannot be controlled, only witnessed. Between these two worlds unfolds the core of the work:
the endurance of moments,
the crossing of boundaries,
and the decision to remain, again and again.

Un viaggio nel mondo notturno delle montagne, tra silenzio assoluto e forza primordiale.
Al centro, la ricerca di uno dei predatori più elusivi d’Europa.
Silenzioso.
Quasi invisibile.
E percepibile solo per brevi istanti.
Nel corso dei mesi prende forma un lavoro che richiede pazienza, sopporta il dubbio e conduce continuamente al limite – fisico, mentale e personale. La conferenza racconta la nascita di quell’immagine premiata agli “Oscar della fotografia naturalistica”, il Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
Ma il silenzio è solo una parte.
L’altra conduce là dove i paesaggi si muovono, dove calore, luce e rischio si incontrano. In un mondo di brace, nel luogo di origine della Madre Terra. In condizioni estreme nascono immagini che non possono essere controllate, ma solo osservate. Tra questi due mondi si sviluppa il cuore del lavoro:
la capacità di resistere ai momenti,
il superamento dei limiti,
e la scelta di restare, ancora e ancora.
